HOKU’S STORY

Recently, my beloved nine year old poi dogĀ, Hoku became gravely ill. Of course it was on the weekend and our Vet, Dr. Robin Woodley was on vacation.

Numerous vets made valiant efforts to diagnose and treat but nothing cured her and by Friday she was so sick that I had to consider putting her down.

As we sat in the yard trying to prepare for what we thought was the inevitable, Robin called me. What followed was quite amazing.

We presented at the clinic and she began to palpate her abdomen. Within minutes, she looked at me and said isn’t this the mac nut dog?

Robin performed surgery and removed a large mac nut!

I am forever grateful for Robin’s tremendous skill and compassion in the eleventh hour.

Dr Woodley and her terrific staff, including Rachel, Kathy and Darnell, demonstrate the very best of professionalism and friendship.

We are indeed blessed to have their care and services in North Kohala.
